Receoso das intenções de Alvo Dumbledore com a volta de Voldemort, o Ministro da Magia, Cornélio Fudge, indica uma nova professora para Defesa Contra as Artes das Trevas, Dolores Umbridge, com o trabalho de vigiar diretor e alunos. Contrariando as expectativas dos jovens bruxos, Dumbledore aceita a indicação, para evitar polêmicas. Mas a qualidade do ensino de Defesa Contra as Artes das Trevas cai e assim, os jovens bruxos ficam terrivelmente despreparados para se defenderem contra as forças do Mal que ameaçam a comunidade mágica, forçando Harry e seus amigos Rony e Hermione a tomarem as rédeas da situação. Em encontros secretos com um pequeno grupo de alunos auto-intitulados "Armada de Dumbledore", Harry os ensina como se defenderem contra as Artes das Trevas, preparando os jovens bruxos para os tempos difíceis que virão.

Afraid of the intentions of Alvus Dumbledore regarding the return of Voldemort, the Minister of Magic decides to name a new professor to the subject Defense Against the Dark Arts, Dolores Umbridge, with the task to watch the principal and the students. Going against the expectation of the young students, Alvus Dumbledore agrees with the indication of a new teacher to avoid any issue. But the quality of teaching considerably declines and the students end up not being prepared to face evil and so Harry, Hermione and Rony have to take measures to control the situation. In secret gatherings, Harry teaches a few students on how to fight against the Dark Forces.
